Off-Road Wheelchair (Wheelchair Reference Pack)
A rigid frame wheelchair with large wheels, designed for an independent character in a more rural environment.
Comes with:
a .blend (Blender file) file containing basic materials (shaders) that can be edited
an .obj and .mtl file, which can be imported directly into Clip Studio Paint or other 3D modelling programs
A link to the instruction manual which includes guides on how to do things like change the colour of the frame in blender, import the files into Clip Studio Paint and more.
What kind of character would this wheelchair suit?
This wheelchair was based on wheelchairs designed for off-road traversal and rural life. It is built for someone who lives in the country or somewhere without adequate roads/footpaths, meaning they will need to be off-road more often, such as a farmer, or someone who enjoys and regularly engages in outdoor activities.
Large, soft wheels on the front and back are better for going over uneven terrain, but will make the chair slower and harder to turn on flat, even surfaces (think bmx bike vs a road racing bike). This chair has a low back rest, which gives the user more movement in their arms and shoulders but means they can not have handles on the back, so this chair should only be used by someone who is confident in their wheelchair skills and won't need help often. Likewise, is also has no breaks, as they are not really needed on rough terrain and become an injury risk. It also features a tilted seat, a common feature in wheelchairs for people with spinal injuries and lower-body paralysis, as it helps to hold them in place better.
This wheelchair probably won’t be the only one this character owns. many people who have this kind of wheelchair (in the western world at least) also have a more basic active chair that is better suited to going into town, as these off-road wheelchairs tend to be very difficult to get use in narrow, urban spaces like shop isles or narrow footpaths.
